Start Living!

Ding, Ding... There goes the phone again, ringing and dinging showing snapchat notifications and new instagram posts.  Most teens according to www.wvea.org are on social media outside of activities and school for about nine hours per day!!!  I mean that is insane!! Looking at a fake iphone screen and scrolling through social media nine fricken hours a day, is absolutely horrible.  So this morning I decided to go on instagram because I have been taking a little vacation from social media, and I just scrolled through photos and photos of people over and over.  Every single photo I looked at was a person.  People posing, doing fake things, but most importantly trying to fit in.  Social media is a tool to help you fit in, I mean it is called “Social” media right, but I feel like social media has been ruined by teenagers in this generation.  For example, instagram was first created as a photography app where you could edit photos and share them with the world, but more for the sake of photography and exploration, not vanity and self esteem.  People now post just themselves on their instagram and the great time they are having, I mean for God’s sake people book professional shoots just for instagram!! Pages and pages of just people, trying to be cool and make guys or girls like them just makes me sick, honestly.  That is why I decided to take a break from Instagram for about a month and see how much I change.  We are so stuck in the fake and online world, sometimes we just need to look up from our phones and actually have a human interaction.  I’m not going to go deep into this but social media is partly the reason that according to forbes.com we as a generation are socially awkward and incapable of real interaction!  Look up right now and live!! Seriously.  Stop living in the fake world and start living in the real world that is right ahead of you.  Good luck navigating Life. Robert out.

Humans and Nature

There is this feeling I get when I am out in nature, something way different than anything, it is almost indescribable.  I always remember when me and my dad would drive two hours to a creek or a river and fish for the whole day. Those were some of the best moments with my dad, I mean I can describe the days super clear.  There was something I noticed, that even though I loved fishing, I think I enjoyed just being out in nature and relaxing and listening to the chirping of the birds and the flow of the river.  There was something so calming and relaxing to the whole place that I just wanted to stay forever.  Well, time went on and I got busy with school, sports, etc., and I was most of the time locked inside the whole day looking at words on a computer.  Then repeat this five times a week and that was my life.  On the weekends I would probably hangout with some friends, relax, sit back and watch some netflix, but I was always inside and stimulated, bes...

Doggie Love

Dogs are not just any animal, they have a sense of love and compassion in them that is so strong that humans just melt in front of them.  I was drinking my coffee this morning with my dog by my side looking out the window in my family room.  The rain was coming down ever so slightly, and me, my dog, and the rain just made me think and think.  I have had two beautiful dogs in my lifetime, a lab named buddy, and a lab/mutt mix named Jessie.  I received my first dog when I was around the age of 10, and I was so excited.  We went to the animal shelter to try to get a rescue dog, and this one beautiful dog just came up to my dad’s lap, laid its head right in it, and looked directly in his eyes.  He was so calm and loving that I knew this had to be the one, the dog I would love.  I loved him, and as I know he loved me, and that was really when I realized dogs were not just dogs.  Dogs are your best friend, literally!!  Whenever you come ho...
