Start Living!

Ding, Ding... There goes the phone again, ringing and dinging showing snapchat notifications and new instagram posts.  Most teens according to www.wvea.org are on social media outside of activities and school for about nine hours per day!!!  I mean that is insane!! Looking at a fake iphone screen and scrolling through social media nine fricken hours a day, is absolutely horrible.  So this morning I decided to go on instagram because I have been taking a little vacation from social media, and I just scrolled through photos and photos of people over and over.  Every single photo I looked at was a person.  People posing, doing fake things, but most importantly trying to fit in.  Social media is a tool to help you fit in, I mean it is called “Social” media right, but I feel like social media has been ruined by teenagers in this generation.  For example, instagram was first created as a photography app where you could edit photos and share them with t...

Humans and Nature

There is this feeling I get when I am out in nature, something way different than anything, it is almost indescribable.  I always remember when me and my dad would drive two hours to a creek or a river and fish for the whole day. Those were some of the best moments with my dad, I mean I can describe the days super clear.  There was something I noticed, that even though I loved fishing, I think I enjoyed just being out in nature and relaxing and listening to the chirping of the birds and the flow of the river.  There was something so calming and relaxing to the whole place that I just wanted to stay forever.  Well, time went on and I got busy with school, sports, etc., and I was most of the time locked inside the whole day looking at words on a computer.  Then repeat this five times a week and that was my life.  On the weekends I would probably hangout with some friends, relax, sit back and watch some netflix, but I was always inside and stimulated, bes...

How Tik Tok Won the Race

Tik Tok is currently the fastest growing social media platform on the internet with billions of users sharing and watching content globally.  It is also the fastest growing app on both android and apple which makes me have to bring it into the spotlight.  So what really is Tik Tok?  It is a social platform where users can upload 15 to 60 second videos using a built in editor and sharing tools to promote their video.  I’m not going to lie, I have a Tik Tok too, and it really does give me the laugh I sometimes need in a day, and usually when I open it up I just find myself just scrolling on hours on top of hours through the endless supply of videos.  So what makes TikTok so powerful?  That is exactly what I am going to tackle in this blog post so make sure to give me a follow right now on the blog by tapping the three prongs on the top of the screen and pressing follow.  Without further ado, let's hop into this.  So as I was sayi...

Finding Your Purpose....

So how can I find my purpose?  In such a busy and complicating world it can be hard sometimes to know who you are and what your purpose is in this life, but the thing is, most people have no idea what their purpose is, yes seriously!!  This kind of thing takes time, like years and years of searching and experimenting. Why do we have to have a purpose?  Well…. You don’t, but it does not matter if you want to have one or not, you have one, simple.  A purpose is what helps the world go round, it is what gives humans a sense of drive and meaning on this earth, without purpose there would be no meaning, and without meaning there is nothing.  So I am still personally searching for my purpose, I am only 16 so the likelihood of me stumbling upon it right now is kind of limited but it is possible.  Purpose is contrived when someone goes through many different experiences and adventures, which helps them get a feel for what they like and do not like...

The Meaning Of Life.....

I would like to consider myself a philosophical thinker most of the time, so while I woke up this morning and was eating my breakfast, I looked out my window at the rain and the dimples it made in the puddles outside.  It just kept on coming like heaven decided to let out the floodgates onto the earth.  I thought to myself, “What is the meaning of this?”  What is the meaning of the rain coming down and why is it really here, why am I here and why am I living this life I am in right now?  Why do I feel emotions and why do I love the people I do?  The rain just kept on pouring down while I was thinking, making my thoughts crystal clear.  SO what is the meaning of all of this?  That can be a scary question for some but intriguing for others.  I personally believe that everything that happens happens for a reason in this life.  So whenever I meet a person it was meant to be, whenever I make a breakthrough with my ...

Is Netflix Killing My Happiness?

Last night after publishing my blog, I snuggled up in my bed, turned my light out and tapped on Netflix.  All the sudden season four of Riverdale was out!?  I was so pumped up so I quickly turned on the show and binge watched like six or seven episodes of the new season, literally draining my eyeballs of all liquids.  Everyday since quarantine I have been going on Netflix every night and watching things for hours and hours with no end at all in sight.  Even though this constant entertainment felt good and me feel good, was it actually healthy for my brain and my body to be doing this almost every night?  Hmmmm…..  About a year ago my best friend was obsessed with this chemical in the brain called dopamine and how certain things like entertainment, drugs, and activities affected and drained our dopamine receptors.  For beginners, dopamine is a feel good chemical.  Whenever you win the championship for baseball, dopamine is released.  Du...

The Coronavirus Theory?

Hey everyone reading this! I hope you guys are all safe and staying cautious and aware during these unusual times.  About a month ago I remember going into town to get groceries with my dad and seeing all the stores closed.  All the haircutting places and barbers, closed.  Clothing stores like pacsun and american eagle, closed, and last of all our town mall officially pronounced closed until other notice and update on the virus.  Me and my dad strolled into COSTCO to pick up some food and try to find toilet paper available but as we came to the storefront there was a enormous line and I mean enormous!  COSTCO has a Line?!  They were only letting a certain amount of people in the store at a time, I think something like 50 at a time.  We waited in line and finally entered the store and a weird feeling jumped in my body.  I looked around looking at everyone in masks, and gloves with a face with a mixture of disgust, terror, and madne...
